Robert American Horse (Cut Ears)arrived at the Carlisle Indian School on October of 1879. While at Carlisle Robert had been put on as a apprentice as a Carpenter but was noted to hate doing this trade. Robert would leave the school on June of 1887. But Robert would settle in South Dakota and over the years live in two different area with two different jobs. Robert would live in Manderson, South Dakota (1910) as a stockman and in Kyle, South Dakota (1912) as a farmer.
