Cora Elm arrived at the Carlisle Indian School on December 23, 1906 and graduated from the school on 1913. After Carlisle, Cora went to a Nurses training course at the Protestant Episcopal Hospital located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the years 1913 and 1914 to which she would graduate from here in 1916. She would work at the Protestant Episcopal Hospital as a Supervisor of Wards in 1917. Cora would also join as a nurse with the American Expeditionary Force, Unit 34, in France in 1917 and 1918.
