Samuel Gruett arrived at the Carlisle Indian School on August 8, 1889 and would graduate from the school on July 2, 1897. With a follow up report on Samuel Gruett shows that he worked as a disciplinarian at the Mt. Pleasant school in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan from 1907 to 1911. Then in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan still he was working as a farmer in 1913.
