Leonard Hyden Hudnall arrived at Carlisle Indian School on October 21, 1909. Leonard would leave the school on May 27, 1911. Though he did not graduate from Carlisle, he would go on to Dickinson College Preparatory School (Conway Hall) in Carlisle, PA. He would graduate from this school in 1912. From there he would go on to work as a machinist in United States Reclamation service in Cameo, Colorado in 1913. Then would go on to work fro Hudnall Oil Company in Las Animas, Colorado in 1915 and 1917.
