Richard R. Kesetta was sent to the Carlisle Indian School at the age of four. This was because of his mothers connection to the school as she was a former student. So Richard had been sent there and stayed for a year until he had been sent on what was designated as a outing. But this outing was that Richard R. Kesetta was being sent to live with a lady by the name of Mrs. Sharpe of which she had full control and jurisdiction over him. Richard would leave the school for unknown reasons on July 30, 1918 and in that same year Mrs. Sharpe was given custody of the child.
