Susie McDougal arrived at the Carlisle Indian School on August 27, 1892 and would graduate from the school on August 26, 1895. After graduating from Carlisle, McDougal would attend the Col. Parkers’ school in Chicago, Illinois in 1903 and would also go to the Ferris Institute in Big Rapids, Michigan in 1905. Then went on to be a teacher at Mt. Pleasant, Michigan in 1907, a school clerk in White Earth, Minnesota in 1910, then a teacher in Genoa, Nebraska in 1913.
