Joseph Morrison arrived at Carlisle Indian School on September 23, 1890 and would leave the school on January 16, 1893. After leaving the school Morrison would work as a industrial teacher for one year. Then Morrison was a interpreter for the Chippewa Commission for four years, then went on to be a government interpreter for three year in the Indian service. Then for a time worked as a salesman. Morrison would move to Red Lake, Minnesota in 1910 to work as a painter. Then while there worked as a lumber camp foreman in both 1911 and 1913.
