William Spier arrived at the Carlisle Indian School on October 15, 1908 and would leave the school on May 12, 1911. The schools follow up report showed that William was working as an assistant farmer for the Indian Agency at the San Juan School in Ship Rock, New Mexico in 1911 and 1914.
