Standing Bear, Henry

Henry Standing Bear would arrive at Carlisle Indian School on November 14, 1883.  While at Carlisle he would be made an officer of the schools Republic Debating Society and would go to attend the District Convention of the Y. M. C. A., held at Chambersburg held in May of 1890.  Then in the same year of 1890, Henry Standing Bear was elected as an officer in the          Y. M. C. A.  as its Recording Secretary.  Standing Bear would graduate on June 5, 1891.  In followup reports on Standing Bear after leaving Carlisle, he would work as a shipping clerk for Sears Rose buck Co. in Chicago Illinois in 1910.  Then go on to work as a showman in Belvidere, South Dakota in 1911.  Then he would settle it seems in Wanblee, South Dakota in 1916.
