Luther Standing Bear arrived at Carlisle Indian School on October 6, 1879. While at Carlisle he and other worked at Wanamaker’s store, Philadelphia and was apart of the schools band. He had also trained at Carlisle in the tinner’s trade while at Carlisle. He would leave the school sometime in 1885. Luther Standing Bear married a girl who was educated at the Hope School, Springfield, Dakota. In a later report he was working as a clerk in a Store in Sioux city, Iowa in 1913.
