Alexander (Alex) Upshaw arrived at the Carlisle Indian School on December 16, 1888. Alex would graduate from the school in 1897 but would leave the school on March 8, 1898. The school follow up report shows that Alex worked as a industrial teacher at an Indian school for two years, until 1907. Then in 1909 married Emma Young and was a farmer in St. Xavier, Montana.
